baycox exerts a coccidicidal effect in all stages of intracellular development of coccicidia, such as schizogony and gtametogonia. Its excellent activity against macro and microgametes gives it a special characteristic over other anticoccidial compounds.

baycox has a deleterious effect on mitosis, mitochondria, and macrogametocytes on wall-forming bodies. It causes vaculolization of the endoplasmic reticulum in all the intracellular evolutionary stages. These properties give Baycox a coccidicidal effect.
